Frequently asked questions
How did you come up with the name “Inspire Church”?
The word “inspire” means to influence, move, or guide by divine or supernatural inspiration, to spur on, to draw forth or bring out. We want to live, love, and serve in such a way that it inspires people to follow Jesus with their whole hearts. We don’t make demands of people. We inspire people through love.
What can I expect if I show up for your Sunday morning meeting?
We meet at a movie theater, so come relaxed and be yourself. Our time together is more like a fun family gathering rather than a “religious service.” Coffee makes every meeting better so we make sure to have good, fresh, hot coffee and donuts waiting for you. Our Inspire band kicks off at 10:30 , followed by a “talk” that will be practical, relevant, and encouraging. The meeting lasts about 70 minutes so you will be out with plenty of time to grab lunch, spend time with your family, or enjoy a nice Sunday nap.
What’s the dress code?
Dress in a way that you feel comfortable. We care about you, not what you wear.
Do you have anything for my kids?
Yes! We love kids and plan with them in mind. Upon arriving at the theater, you can register your child at our “Inspire Kids” check-in table. Then, directly after our band finishes their song set, all of our kids go into Theater room 3 where our friendly staff will ensure that your kids have a fun and safe learning experience.
What about teenagers?
Yes, again! We have lots of fun events planned for teenagers where they can hang out together, build strong relationships with one another, acquire a greater sense of personal self-worth and value, and learn how to live the life of a Jesus-follower. You will also see a lot of young people serving in many different areas in Inspire Church. That’s because we want to make sure that “the next generation” knows that we believe in them today.
What denomination are you?
We are not part of any denomination but we do have strong relationships with other churches, leaders, and ministries who share our same values and passion.
Do you guys believe in Jesus?
Yes! We are on a journey of learning how to be followers of Jesus’ life and teachings. We believe that Jesus showed us the best way to live, and as His followers, we want to live like He did. It is only through Jesus that we can experience overflowing, limitless life. With that said, you may be skeptical of Jesus or unsure about the reality of God. If so, then we want you to know that you can belong here before you believe. We all work towards truth in different ways. We have people here with all kinds of cultural and spiritual backgrounds, so no matter who you are, or where you have been, we have a place for you.
What makes you different?
A lot of things. None of us are perfect, so we work hard at building a culture of love, tolerance, acceptance, and empowerment. We are not trying to be different just for the sake of being different. We live in a rapidly changing world, and that means changing the way we do things to become more effective at reaching people. Although we are firm in our deep seated convictions and values, we are very flexible in our methods. Another thing that makes us unique is the amount of outreach events that we are involved in. Sunday morning is only one dimension of what we do. We want Inspire to be a “family on mission” together, so we are always looking for ways to serve our community and show kindness to people outside of the walls.
What do you preach or teach?
The gospel. The word “gospel” means “good news” so that’s what we preach and teach. If you are hearing bad news preached, then you are not hearing the gospel. It’s that simple. You won’t be shamed here or made to feel bad because of your mistakes. You will get help here. We don’t use fear or guilt as tools to try to get you to change your behavior. Real, lasting change and transformation happens from the inside out as you simply believe the truth of the gospel.
How do you plan on “inspiring the world”?
God loves people, and so do we. We are committed to showing this love in unique and creative ways all over the world. Over the past several years, we have supported orphans in Thailand, ministered to victims of human trafficking in Cambodia, traveled to communist Cuba, shared the gospel in dominant Muslim cities, trained leaders, fed the poor in the trash dumps, preached in the largest night club in Bali, and thrown parties for prostitutes. And we’re just getting started.
